Another problem that you may run into is counterfeit items. Where there is a market for an item, there will be someone trying to scam the market. This is a big problem if you end up with the products. Before you buy anything you need to make sure that it is the real deal. A friend of mine bought some baseball cards he believed were worth a lot more than the asking price. When his Ebay buyer got the cards they were determined to be fakes. He was stuck with several cards that were not worth the paper they were printed on.

Hi. I think, as a mom myself….that one of the most thoughtful gifts I have ever received from both of my sons has been the Christmas that they went together and bought me:
1. Small Waterfall
2. Under the waterfall, they set two envelopes; one red and one green.
Inside the envelopes were six pages of "Why we Love You Mom" and they included their favorite memories; pictures; events they loved that we attended together; anything that was special to them about "Mom."
No this didn't cost much…HOWEVER THEY KNOW THAT THIS IS THE ONE GIFT, A GIFT FROM THEIR HEARTS * SOULS THAT MADE ME SO PROUD OF THEM FOR THEIR THROUGTFULNESS.
It wasn't one liners…it was paragraphs after paragraphs that showed me how much we have done together truly meant sometime.
My guess is your Mom, Dad, would LOVE THIS FROM YOU. Every year, they have tried to re-create that "special gift" but I tell them year after year…please do this one over and over!
One day when you too are a Mom, you will see just how much this gift means. It's wonderful your parents are helping you and I can't explain how much this would mean to them. This project will be fun because you can find all kinds of things without spending a lot.
First, think of pillows, cushy ones. Our local Chinatown had beautiful pillow shams on sale like 2 for $10.
Then look around for some favorite photos and have them enlarged and buy inexpensive frames from Ross for Less or Costco. Think about painting something like one wall.
Buy fresh flowers from Farmers' Markets or a store like Albertsons where they good prices. Don't leave out the house plants. Instead of buying expensive vases for your plants, use odd items.
Lucky Bamboo is great because it requires dim or no light at all to thrive.
Stores usually have a department where they put below price merchandise. Check there for rugs and such.
When I was hosting the Superbowl Party, I was kind of broke but the house needed sprucing up. I looked around and picked out a couple of things I could do to add some pizzazz. Lucky me, all I had to do was change out plastic lightplate switches and change them to brass. Then I determined it was a good time to change the cheap doorknobs on the bedroom doors so I bought matching brass knobs. Easy, easy and cheap!
I found some really colorful throw rugs for the bath and kitchen at Anna's Linens and things.
The dollar store had nice candles and odds and ends that worked well.
One other thing you can do is find colorful or earthtoned heavy fabric to throw around on the sofa and chairs.

I renovate houses professionally, but I can't really tell you anything without more information about what you have right now. Just a guess…does the exterior look really bad? If so, vinyl siding is always an easy fix. It is really very simple and inexpensive if you do it yourself. You can find a book at the library that will tell you everything you need to know about how to do it.
